Funny that this thread is still going on.........especially since the car is in the middle of being parted out.

Was having bad luck with the front suspension, got a wicked deal on a excellent condition 86 Fiero GT, bought the car and currently driving it, don't worry, most of the car is going to be around the country, engine/tranny/wiring/mechanicals are going to be re-purposed into the 85 Fiero Turbo LSJ project.

Holy shit man!?!?!?! WTF That car was so damn nice. Why not sell the car whole? That is shitty. I know the Fiero's are nice but WOW!!! I hope you have fun with the Fiero though man. You seem pretty passionate about both of them so good luck and as always, we'll have to make a trip out to see them.

Yeah sorry Kenny, I was kinda busy at the wedding! But this, I would have stopped everything to hear.

you know just like I, selling a mod'd car never nets you the amount that its worth............anyways I needed a complete LSJ wiring harness/car harness/computers to get my Fiero project done. In the end I am going to have a 85 Fiero that thinks, acts and when you plug in a computer it will say 2004 Saturn ION redline, and on top of that I will never have todo another drive clean test, something that the ION would never pass.

Funny thing is, even though my 86 GT Fiero isn't close to as fast as the ION, and it does need a little work (suspension needs to be updated, don't know the last time joints, rods and bushings were changed, and needs a front brake upgrade) I enjoy driving it more..........even though its autotragic.

One of the few cars that is still quite enjoyable as an autotrajic (mine is).
Very sad to see the Ion go but understand.. so how bout those punisher badges? lol
These will be two very nice Fiero's in the end. The Ion went for a great cause!
And are you looking for the Fiero harness because your swapping to manual? If so I could trade you a manual engine harness for the auto to fix mine :)

I wasn't looking due to the manual transmission, I was looking cause a bunch of my connectors in the engine bay have been broken and don't lock properly.

I don't know if the auto/man harness would be different, cause this autotragic isn't computer controlled, other than the speed sensor, reverse sensor and kickdown cable (connected to the throttle body) there isn't any other connections on the wiring harness.

Jer, as passionate as I know you are about the Fiero, it's sad to see a car only 5 years old being parted out. It's a waste especially since you bought it new and all. Good luck with the Fiero though. Hope you can get it all to work properly.

I don't really think of it being "parted out" more than being "re-purposed" its heart and soul will live on in a new body.

But yes I know what you are saying, I didn't just say one morning that I was going to get rid of the Saturn, it was a long thought process combining the pros and cons of it.

Did you at least let Krista and/or Rudy drive it before you 're-purposed'???? lol

nope, although Rudy got to drive a mod'd cobalt turbo, much faster than mine with a lot less work done to it.
