Like the title states...I'm going to be upgrading my 16's at the end of this season...and am thinking about 17's or 18's..
I've got my heart set on XXR 001 17/18's...I love my XXR's and am choosing nothing else...they have a 48mm offset in 18's where as my 16's are a 42mm.
Also I've only got 24.3 Inches of clearance from the ground to the bottom of my front fenders. (I'm lowered 2")
Biggest I can fit is a 215/40/17.. SO my question is..
would I be able to go 215/35/18 possibly and make it fit? I think the width is gonna be the main problem though..
Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks again guys :D

You actually like the 001's?

Anyhow to answer your question, it looks like the 18's are only available in a 7.5" width, which I believe will cause issues, whereas the 17x7 will be fine.

I absolutely LOVE the 001's...I currently have the 008's and think they're ok, just want something a little better.
7.5" would really cause an issue?? Would I be rubbing struts? or? I would be more than willing to put a 1/4" spacer in the front to run a 225 if need be although I plan on going 215 (I have a spacer on each side in the rear already)
The steering radius on our cars is already horrible so I don't care about that...7.5" would be too much?

I know Krista's running 18x7.5's, but I can't remember the tires, and with her 2" to 2.5" drop, she rubs the fender lip, and near the lock both ways too. These cars just aren't built for a rim that wide or tall.
She is running 225's though, so you mihgt just be able to get away with 215's, which would look stretched (gay IMO).

LOL I figured those were 18's..but a few questions...what kinda camber are you running..how wide are your 18's...7"? and how wide are your tires? 225's? With what profile?
Are you lowered at all? do you rub fender or strut? Do you have to run wheel spacers?? LOL I wanna know everything :D

18x7.5, 38 offset, 215/35s, lowered on eibachs, only hub spacers on the rear (looks, not clearance), 1 deg negative camber, and no rubbing on fenders (but some on the liners on very, very hard cornering)...

Hmm something to think about...I was thinking 215's as well..only difference is the 18's I'm looking at have a 48mm offset...:S
Don't know if that would come into play or not...guess I'm gonna find out at the end of this summer :D

Dediced to go a different route for now until start of next season. I've got too much to worry about right now, so I just picked up some MSR 17's...gunmetal 7 spoke with a 2.5" deep polished lip..205/40/17, looks SWEET. For $500 I'm not complaining. Now I just have to drop the car another 1/2 an inch..

Hey guys. I run my 20"s on my 01 SC2.. with a 225/30zr20 on them. I had to remove my front wheel liners to run them, and only rub on a HARD left turn. but thats it. I also run a 215/45r17 for a snow

Its amazing what fits, but oh well... i think i would of rather stayed wiht 18"s.. a bit cheaper, and a bit more availability for tires LOL
