ok so you know that reflector strip on the trunk? well this is still just an idea cause i havent taken it off to look at it yet but im thinking once i get like some blackout tail lights or something, to take that reflector strip off and put a couple layers of black spray paint on the inside and put a light bar in there as well and hook it to my brake lights.

opinions?
comments?

hmmmmmmm that sound pretty creative. Though you could just tint it and still put a light bar inside without going through the hassle of painting it. i think it would look pretty sick either way. post some pics if u ever do it!

i took the bolts off last night that hold it on. but i also have to take the key mechanism off too. and i dont wanna mess with that so imma see if another of my friends know how to do it.

what do you mean? like window tint on the inside of it?
ill def. put some pics up though if i ever do it. and you all feel free to do it to your rides as well.

and i just had an additional idea, i seen some flexible led rope at the autoparts store, so maybe instead of a plain old light bar in there, spell "SC1" out.

Once you have it off the car it is not very thick, so I don't think the led ropes will work. Also the backing of the center reflector is solid black plastic so inorder to try and put lights in there you would have to try to seperate the reflector and the backing (if even possible without melting the plastic) or drilling the holes through the black plastic and trying to put led in the holes, as it is probally not even wide enough for the normal led bars.

hm.... since the light thing is out the window i might just paint the reflector when i get my car repainted.

and how do you think this would look...

on my headlights, do one light coat of nite shade then let it dry overnight then mask off circles where the light shines through and spray a like 2-3 more coats one them? just an idea, trying to get some input

I would not do this to the lights, it wont look right. A few people did it on the other saturn forums and since it is clear plastic when the lights are on it looks really purple. I would wait and try to get the black housing headlights.

If you want a pic of the black housing headlights let me know and I can take one for you, as I have them installed now.

Also here is a pic of what the lights and center reflector look like completely blacked out. This was my other car i did. They were completely black and looked like they were painted the same colour as the car.

depending on how dark you go, about 2-3. I think my black car took me about 5 cans but that was completely blacked out.

I agree! You should not need more than one can but if you do, it definitely wouldn't be more than two. Shawn forgot to tell you that he inhaled 4 of those cans :P

Ya i did inhale a few of them, sorry it was 4 that I bought, found my old bill, and i used about 3 and a half. My center reflector looked like black paint,(it would noy even light up for headlights) and I also had to build it up a bit, as I had a vinyl graphic on the reflector over under the tint. Im just sad that I only got 2 month of use on those lights and then they went to the junkyard, so much lost time, lol

If you are smoking them 1 can should do if you want to do the reflector and the lights in a darker smoke or even blacked out, you will need more then 1, but the nice thing is if you run out you can just run to the store and buy more.

My blue car took about 1.5 cans, tails and marker lights
