I went on SPS the other day and he's selling some sweet candy in there for my 01 sc2 (cam shafts, heads, throttle bodys...). I wanted to jump on rebuilding my head with high temp seals, valves, lifters, and new cam shafts...BUT how much power will a performance cam actually give me? will i feel it (even with a fuel tune?). He also sells a stage 1 all motor head ported and polished...will i feel that as well? I'm under the assumption it may give me 2-10 hp for a head job (no "perversion" intended)... Thanks ahead of time guys.

use a 91-98 head, horizontal IM and get a 91-92 factory header. the 9 bolts flow even shittier after a full port then a 5 bolt. a fully ported 5 bolt will yield more power with a fuel tune

Try SDA instead of SPS. Far cheaper and if IIRC, SPS is shut down or shutting down as far as the store goes. And I am sure Mike would appreciate the business.

whoops yea that was a type. I meant SDA..not SPS. Thanks for the tips guys. I understand better flow = better power but what I don't know is if its worth buying. Im used to driving 6 cylinders. I love the pull they have when you press down the pedal. If I can get that out of my Saturn I would be very pleased. Now I know I wont have as much power as a 6 cylinder but I would like to get more pull from my car (as well as speed). But if I wont notice it I'm not gonna bother.

You would certainly notice a difference in a built motor from Mike over a stock one. Biggest difference will be torque. You will have more power as well but not 220+hp

damn I wont get 220 hp?! hahaha mike is from SDA...right? oh and with the performance cams..they said to get the max performance from them I would need fuel tuning. I would guess an Apexi is all i would need...unless i can just turn a screw lol. I'm tryin to be the only one in my area with a saturn that people talk about lol. As far as I know I have no competition. With an honest all motor build I'm sure I would turn heads.

speed before looks WAS my first rule when i bought this car... but now im not sure if i can pull it off as well as ide like. If i got the stage one I have no idea how to tune it. then theres the wide band o2 sensor that im trying to figure out right now as well as if i would need injectors and a fuel management controller. so many things ive been thinking about for last couple of weeks i got to the point where im like eff it. lol so if its possible for me to pull off i would do it in a heartbeat. ill be pissed though if i do the swap and dont feel much power gain : /
