ok so my car has a little problem starting all of a sudden. if it has been sitting for a couple hours i will have to give it some gas to make it start. at first i thought it was the battery but i took it to the auto parts store and had the battery tested. the battery is fine. they said it could be like the fuel pump getting weak, the fuel filter getting clogged, or the fuel pump relay. now i didnt have any of these problems prior to my friend and i trying to hook some subs up in my car, which resulted in frying the amp... we had forgot to match the ohms on the amp and the subs... so idk. any of you have any clue whats going on?

We need some more info....

Does it crank slowly, or does it crank like normal?

there are 105,000 miles on the car. idk when the last tune up was, but i do need an oil change in like 30 miles, and no service engine light is coming on.

ok soo..... the fuel pump relay was only part of the problem? its being retarded again. like my rpms will shift when there not supposed to... my car idled today at around 2k while i was driving and "cruise controlled" me at like 41 mph... i dont have cruise control.... and sometimes now when i put it in park it will sky rocket to 3k rpms.

after reading on it it sounds like that could be the problem. im hooking it to my buddies diagnostics machine at his work tommorrow. but regardless i would still like some peoples opinions on what it could be.

dang, on my drive home from work my service engine soon light turned off. which means my friend cannot hook it to his diagnostics machine. and an egr valve is kinda expensive to just buy and see if thats it. unless ive been looking at the wrong places for them. regardless, tommorrow i am changing the oil, with good quality full synthetic, and i might order a fuel filter.

If it was the EGR valve sticking open, your engine would die at idle, and run like a complete bag of shit otherwise.
Think about it, you'd be introducing EXHAUST gas back into the intake.... along with causing a massive vacuum leak.

I would start by checking for disconnected or damaged vacuum lines.
