The JCO Central and Niagara regions, together with the Ontario Fusion Tuner Club (http://www.ontariofusion.com) have been working hard to make a bash possible this year.
We would like to first start by saying thank you to everyone who has offered to help in one way or another this year. Through everyones input and assistance we have been able to make something happen in only a matter of a few weeks. It really shows what kind of people are in this club! Now, on with the good stuff!
Date: Saturday, 18 June 2011. Roll in at 10:00.
Fifty Point Conservation Area
- Address: 1479 Baseline Road, Stoney Creek, Ontario L8E 5G4
- Winona Pavilion
There are two costs associated with this years event:
1. Park fee of $9.00 per car, $13.50 flat rate for those carrying passengers. This is non-negotiable and something that every entrant must pay.
2. Show and Shine Fee of $10.00. This fee covers rental of the pavilion and grass to park on.
**Any proceeds above and beyond the cost of the rental will be going to either a local charity, or donated to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with the relief efforts in Japan.**
With that said, not only is this a great opportunity to come out and meet everyone and show off your ride, but it's all going towards a good cause which makes it all the much better!
I know we don't have to remind everyone since most is simply common sense, but we ask that for the sake of the park, other patrons, and neighbours nearby that people try to abide by the following:
1. No alcohol is to be consumed while on site.
2. No loud music (there will be no stereo competition).
3. Garbage goes in the garbage bins and not on the grass.
4. No spinning tires, racing, drifting, or any other stupidity.
Basically, just respect the park don't be an idiot. It's pretty simple, like i said - common sense.
You are more than welcome to bring gazebos, chairs, coolers etc. to the site. Portable BBQ's are allowed to be used, just be sure to use them safely! (We dont want anyone blowing up a nice car now would we? )
Holiday Inn Express
Address: 51 Keefer Court, Hamilton, Ontario L8E 4V4.
The hotel is located right at the QEW and Centennial Parkway. VERY easy to find from any direction. The drive to the bash in the morning will be about 5 mins. Just up the road are amenities like restaurants and bars should anyone choose to use them. There is also a Golden Griddle restaurant on site.
Cost: $103.00 + HST per night. (Starting 17 June 2011).
Options: Standard room with two double beds, or, you may request a queen bed with a double pull-out couch. If you want to book a room for a second night this is fine as well.
Timeline: You will need to book before 17 May 2011 to get the hotel room at this rate. They only hold the rooms for up to 30 days prior to the night in question. After that you will be subject to paying the full price and risk not getting in with us! They have also mentioned that they will try to keep us all together and if we need more rooms than the allotted 30 they can try and open up a few more spaces.
I did not inquire about alcohol consumption - i'm sure it's going to happen anyways regardless of what they say. Just be smart about it and lets not upset the hotel!
Once we receive the "group booking" confirmation code from the hotel, you simply phone them up, give them the promo code, your payment information, and you're done.
We are considering the idea of a few awards, nothing major but something to at least acknowledge the hard work and dedication that members of our club and platform enthusiasts have put into their rides. Classes and such have not been decided just as of yet, but once we get a better understanding of numbers and what kind of cars will be entering we will update the thread and let you know.
We really hope to see all of you out this year. The location is huge and very nice. There are trails to walk if you've got kids or a dog. The lake is right there as well as a little pond too. We are expecting a very diverse crowd with people from all walks of brands and styles. So please do not think this is a "J-Body only" kind of show. Everyone is welcome!
Any further questions you may have please ask. We do not want anyone left in the dark here and if there is anything we may have missed please let us know and the original post will be updated.
Hope this helps!!
