This article is for replacing/lowering ION springs and struts

Tools needed
Ratchet and wrench set (not 100% sure about sizes off hand)
Inside Torx bit (for the top of the strut, don't know the size offhand)
Outside Torx bit (for the strut assembly, don't know the size offhand)
Special bit/wrench for getting the upper strut nut off
Car jack
Jackstands
Hammer, and maybe a bigger hammer
Spring compressor

Method

Rear end replacement

1. Using your car jack, lift up the rear of the car, on both sides (this will take the pressure off the antiswaybar)
2. Put your car on the stands
3. Remove your wheels with the 19mm racthet
4. Use your jack to support one of the sides of the suspension, under the spring/shock
5. Remove the lower bolt to the shock. Do this for both sides.
6. Using the jack lower the suspension, letting it go down all the way
7. Once the suspension is lowered, you will see that that springs are fairly loose. Remove the spring, you will need to play with it abit to get them out, at least on the redlines cause of the rear disk brakes
8. You will see that the rubber isolators is stuck in the spring, the bottom one will pull out no problem, the top one has a hard plastic disk inside the unit, jambing it on the spring. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry this out, replace it when installing the springs.
9. To put everything back together, reverse these steps, if you want to replace the rear shock, just remove the top bolt and install the new part.

Front end replacement

1. Using your car jack, lift up the front of the car, on both sides (this will take the pressure off the antiswaybar)
2. Put your car on the stands
3. Remove your wheels with the 19mm racthet
4. Pop your hood
5. Remove the strut to hub bolts
6. Remove the bolt holding the antisway bar, use a 14mm wrench behind the nut to keep the link from spinning
7. Go under the hood and remove the one bolt that holds the upper strut in, hold the strut from falling down
8. Using a inside torx bit, remove the three bolts on the upper bearing cap
9. Use your spring compressor to compress the spring
10. This is where you need a special bit, to get the upper spring mount/bearing plate off.
11. Remove the bearing plate, and the spring
12. To put everything back together, reverse these steps

Have fun with this.......and be carefull, especially when jacking a car......and always while you have the car in the air and apart, check out the brakes, ball joints, ect, ect
