i wouldn't do it, rev limiters are there for reason, to keep from damaging the motor during free rev'ing. Just my opinion though. You probably would have to install a tech2 or another computer system, cause the rev limiter is programmed into the pcm

The only way to do it is by reprogramming or changing the computer.

the only way to do it is to put an auto PCM in a 5spd car. however, this will falg an SES since the PCM can not find the automatic transmission. also, you will still have the speed limiter

or

get standalone engine management like i am doing.

a new ECU for the car, replaces the motor control functions from the PCM to a programable ECU.

under $200 for a megasquirt v2.2 with tuning cable shipped FTMFW, o and its brand new!!!

I think that's a bit above his head at this point.

Basically: there's no point in raising the rev limiter because you won't go any faster if you do.

thats cause an ll0 with stock cams stops making power just before the redline. so reving it out really doesnt do anything powerwise

different racing foundout what happends when u go too far past the max engine speed (8k)
the flywheel bolts backed off, he mis shifted and hit 9,700 or so
its a good idea to just leave the stock engine rev limiter in there and learn some good launching and shifting techniques
and someone on this board has proved that saturns cant take much in the way of burnouts...he is currently using a trans he bought from me!
