Hey, so I took a drive about an hour away from home to a beach, car ran fine, then when I left the parking lot I noticed about 20 minutes into the drive back I had my ABS light on. The weird thing is when I stop and filled up the light was off for 5-10 minutes and then came back on. its weird and has been doing this for a couple days now, going on and off just certain times. Was wondering if anyone else encountered this or has an idea where I might want to start for the problem.

Cheers!

Sounds to me like it could be a fuse or the light itself. Check those first and see if that helps before you venture into the ABS sensor world.

I would even try just re seating the contacts for the sensor and fuse, maybe its just a dirty connection. Salt does horrible things to electronics.

There are several sensor harness "extensions", more plugs = more spots corrosion can hide. But realistically this is like guessing at an SES light being on, just with less codes to choose from. ABS scanners are cheap, and getting someone to scan it should not cost much either.

its gone away now and hasn't come back on for about a week so im just going to leave it alone and not touch it. Last time we touched anything to do with the ABS or computer, we ended up turning the dash board into a christmas tree of lights lol. So I will play it safe for now and say it solved its own issue.

Do you still have abs brakes or if you hammer the brakes does it lock up? If the light comes on it means a problem that's what the lights are there for. Abs doesn't mean anything to me you just need to know how to use your brakes manually if you lock up and bot rely on the abs kicking in if it's broken. I'd see if they still work before I ignored the light that was on

The light isnt on anymore, It would come on after 5 minutes of driving then if I shut the car off and drove again it would be off. But it has not come on at all now, if I go to lock up my brakes the ABS kicks in with no problem now. So its just weird. If it comes back on again, knowing me I will pull the bulb. I hate ABS but I hate a Christmas tree dashboard just as much.

If you pull the bulb I would pull the abs fuse as well so you don't think it'll work when you need it. Either that or you could fix it hahahaha. But who fixes shit bow a days besides jon lol

My theory is that it is cheaper to fix it before it leads to bigger problems that are not easily affordable. If it were ABS though, I dont think I would fix it. Probably would unplug the light.

ABS is worthless anyways. Except in transports.
