I want to do some road racing, prolly just for fun.
I want to get into autocrossing, see if I like it.
I want to get into the 14's, probably a long shot considering I'm N/A, but I know it's doable :)

First step: once this freaky weather passes and spring actually arrives, it's time for some sticky tires :D
I'm eyeballing Falken Rt615's, Hankook RS-2 Z212's and maybe Toyo T1-R's, all in a 205/50/15.

You? :)

To keep the Satty running long enough to make it to the Honda dealership!!Oh shit..thinking out loud again! J/K :D

Swapping to DOHC with port and polished head, bored for .030 over pistons, header and all the goodies I can afford! I may even go with some new SDA cams if money allows it! Then I would like to keep it running long enough to make it down the track and turn some heads and stop putting money into a 92 Saturn!

Hey Viperoni, from what I understand t he Falken 615 are stickier then T1-R, and cheaper as well. The Hankook aren't even in the same category as the other two tires.

I hope to be able to get my turbo car on the road this year, but it may not happen.

No matter what I definately want to get the green car to the track.

I wanna do the Stage 2 on the RL as well..........but money won't be there, gotta save money for a house, so a K&N typhoon intake will be all for me for alittle while

The drag car I will be taking to the track more, gotta work my dial in some more, learn to launch better, ect, ect, depending, I might just drop a huge turbo in the car, just for shits and giggles

The show car will be going to the shop once Krista's car is on the road, got a few more things to dial in there, and off to saftey and emissions

The trailor that mark and I got, well I am going to be stripping several hardwood 5x12' sheet metal shipping skids at work to use for the joists and planks...........just gotta build some beaver tails to load the cars on the trailor.

From everything I've heard and read, the RS-2's have softer rubber and a stiffer sidewall than the 615's, and even though the RS-2's have more siping, the wet weather performance isn't much better.

hey Jon, do you expect to get into the 16's with that setup? ;)

bad4u, sounds sweet, just get some nice rubber and you should be there!

And Jer, well I dunno what to say, but at least you have your priorities straight ;)
Lets boost that drag car to hell :D

Viperoni:

Check out what tires contunally win the street tire class (non R Compound) in autocrossing

Kumho Ecsta MX, and Falken 615s

That should tell you something

I intend to visit Luskville, it is a 1/4 mile strip in Quebec, about 1.75 hours from Chalk River. I also intend to not blow up the damn car...

I'm scared to even try cause my pin isn't welded.

So I may not even bring it to the track this year.

After going for a ride in a turbo ION, I must say that I am inspired to experiment when this thing is no longer a DD.

Kevin,
Both of those tires won't be good enough for daily driving in the wet. If I wanted a track only tire, I'd go with a slick :)

Jon, 15's are in your sights as long as you have some stickier tires and figure out how to launch the car :)

Tom, just scratch the tires a bit to clean em off, you dont have to do a big burnout.
You definetely dont want to pop that pin though :(

I've heard that the 615s are pretty decent in the rain. If I ever get my red car on the road, I plan to put 615s on it, so I will let you know how they work in the rain :)

I've heard that, but I need better than pretty decent, and the RS2's are more open.
My KDW2's, even when at half tread depth, were just dangerous on the highway if there was ANY sort of standing water at all. Nothing like doing 120 and properly hydroplaning.
