Is anybody interested in going to this: http://www.mosport.com/2007/victoriaday-sched.htm

It sounds like good racing.

I'm definitely going to the Grand Prix of Motorsport at Mosport on August 24-26.

In my opinion, run stock compression, build up the engine, and add boost - turbo or supercharger with intercooler, and bump up the speed and rev limiters. That would be pretty nice.

Nah, they're probably pros. There are lots of cars to practice on around here. Your best security would be a hungry Rottweiler.

Sorry to hear about your stereo. Glad it was just the head unit. I hate parking my car anywhere the general public has access to it, which doesn't leave much, in Toronto.

I've had my AEM Cold Air Intake since June 2003, so it's long overdue for cleaning. Fortunately, I drive mostly on non-dusty Toronto roads and the 401, so there should be less dirt than in non-urban owners' intakes. I usually stay clear of construction areas, etc. in consideration of my CAI. I decid...

Subliminal, Thanks for the info. What size pads did you get? I downloaded their UK application guide, but Saturn was obviously missing. Do we use the same size pads as another car model, or do they offer a different selection in the North American market? I might still give their Redstuff a shot, bu...

The AEM web site shows 2.25" - 6.0" diameters. The S-Series size is 2.25", and the Ion is 2.5", I believe.

Saturn Saab Isuzu of Thornhill was quoting me about $60. I'll probably get one in the next 2 months to replace my original AEM filter. It's probably pretty dirty by now, and I don't want to risk any more dirt getting into the engine.

I read that Brembo also gets their lower-brand stuff made in China. But it should be good enough for Saturns.

Congrats. Enjoy the vrooom.

I'm going to buy an AEM Dryflow filter this spring for my CAI... there's no point re-oiling it if something better is on the market.

Apparently people at Saturnfans are using EBC pads:

I'll give the Redstuff a shot once I figure out how to get the proper pads. They're probably the same size as Civic pads or something.

I think the cross-drilling also helps when driving in the wet... allows the steam vapor to escape under heavy braking.

D-Sport magazine published an article this month on brake pads... from their table ratings, I'd go with the EBC Redstuff pads.

I'm thinking about doing some road rallying in the Toronto club this year. It shouldn't be too expensive, no special equipment is required. Also, I'd like to go to Mosport's Victoria Day and Speedworld events in May and August.
